Regular Season Round 8: Dunkerque - Reims 70-59

We should mention about the upset which took place in Dunkerque, where higher ranked Reims (5-3) lost to eleventh ranked Dunkerque (3-5) in a road game 59-70 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Reims. The game was mostly controlled by Dunkerque. Reims managed to win third quarter 12-7. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of Latvian center Aija Brumermane (192-86) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Anais Viale (188-91) who added 12 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Four Dunkerque players scored in double figures. Sarah Ousfar (183-93) responded with 9 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Clementine Samson (181-91) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Dunkerque moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Montbrison and Aulnoye. Loser Reims keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with COB Calais. Dunkerque will meet at home bottom-ranked Limoges (#14) in the next round where they are favorite. Reims will play against Arras (#7) and hope to secure a win.
