Regular Season Round 8: SIG - Roannais 51-34

Rather expected game in llkirch-Graff. where 11th ranked Roannais (2-6) was defeated by eighth ranked SIG (4-4) 51-34 on Saturday. The game without a history. SIG led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Roannais to just 4 points in first quarter. SIG forced 33 Roannais turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Pauline Krawczyk (182-85) who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Center Celine Schmitt-Sender (185-80) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Jessica Clemencon (190-89) produced 9 points and 13 rebounds and Laura Dimithe added 11 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SIG moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Toulouse and Arras. Roannais lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. SIG will face Toulouse (#6) on the road in the next round. Roannais will play against the league's second-placed Roche (#2) and hope to win that game.
