Regular Season Round 9: Piombino - Bottegone 62-57

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Piombino (5-4) beat at home 14th ranked Bottegone (3-6) 62-57 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Piombino outrebounded Bottegone 49-34 including 37 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for point guard Simone Bonfiglio (181-88) who led his team to a victory with 32 points. Swingman Camillo Bianchi (194-94) contributed with 8 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Piombino's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Naturalized Bulgarian guard Georgi Sirakov (187-92, agency: Interperformances) answered with 21 points and center Roberto Marconato (204-78) added 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Bottegone. Piombino moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Bottegone dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost.
