Regular Season Round 10: Mataro - Salt 56-69

Date: November 27, 2016
The game between closely ranked teams ended with 12th ranked Mataro's (2-7) home loss to eleventh ranked Salt (3-5) 56-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Salt. Mataro was better in fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for point guard Xavier Torrent (176-90) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Guard Guillem Pascua (186-89) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Guard Santiago Serrataco (187-90) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and David Romero (-90) added 8 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Mataro. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Salt moved-up to tenth place in Group C-A. Mataro lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Salt will face higher ranked Martorell (#5) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Mataro will play against Sant Nicolau (#13) in Sabadell and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
