Regular Season Round 9: Valdiceppo - Monteroni 92-86

There was a surprise result when fourteenth ranked Valdiceppo (3-5) won against higher ranked Monteroni (4-5) in Perugia 92-86 on Sunday. Valdiceppo looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for guard Matteo Orlandi (190-91) who led his team to a victory with 26 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Umberto Meschini (190-94) contributed with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Valdiceppo players scored in double figures. Valdiceppo's coach Paolo Pierotti used a ten-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Power forward Simone Zanotti (208-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds and Federico Ingrosso (187-94) added 27 points and 4 assists in the effort for Monteroni. Valdiceppo moved-up to twelfth place in B. Loser Monteroni dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Valdiceppo will face league's second-placed Campli at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
