Regular Season Round 9: Montegrano - San Severo 79-61

The game between closely ranked teams ended with third ranked Montegrano's (7-1) home victory over 4th placed San Severo (5-4) in Montenegrano 79-61 on Sunday. It was a great shooting night for Montegrano especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was a good game for point guard Eugenio Rivali (178-86, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Point guard Manuel Diomede (188-90, agency: Two Points) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Montegrano players scored in double figures. Naturalized Argentinian point guard Matias Di Marco (180-84) answered with 9 points and 6 assists and power forward Alessandro Cecchetti (200-91) added 10 points in the effort for San Severo. Montegrano maintains third place in B with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader Cecina. Loser San Severo dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Montegrano will face Giulianova (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. San Severo will play against the league's leader Bisceglie and hope to win that game.
