Regular Season Round 19: Yokohama BC - San-en 76-95

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Sanen Neophoenix (12-7) smashed on the road 5th ranked Yokohama BC (7-12) 95-76 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sanen Neophoenix. Yokohama BC was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American swingman Josh Childress (203-83, college: Stanford) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import forward Robert Dozier (206-85, college: Memphis) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sanen Neophoenix players scored in double figures. American forward Jeffrey Parmer (203-85, college: Florida Atlantic) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) added 14 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Sanen Neophoenix maintains second place with 12-7 record having four points less than leader Tochigi Brex, which they share with Chiba Jets. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. Sanen Neophoenix will face league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Yokohama BC will play on the road against the league's second-placed Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and hope to win that game.
