The game in Nagano was also quite interesting. Second ranked Nishinomiya S. (14-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Shinshu BW (6-12). Nishinomiya S. defeated Shinshu BW 81-68 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-68. Nishinomiya S. had a 37-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American forward Larry Owens (201-83, college: ORU, agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Naoki Tani (193-88) helped adding 16 points and 5 assists. Four Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. At the losing side American power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and guard Furuhashi Hiroki (185-92) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Nishinomiya S.. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Hiroshima D. and Gunma. Loser Shinshu BW dropped to the fourth place with 12 games lost. Nishinomiya S. will face Tokyo Z (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shinshu BW will play against the league's leader Toyotsu FE in Nagoya and hope to win that game.
