Regular Season Round 12: Univ.de Chile - Brisas 76-54

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Univ.de Chile (#2) and Brisas (#5). Univ.de Chile (9-3) smashed visiting Brisas (5-7) by 22 points 76-54. Univ.de Chile dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Brisas' 30. Univ.de Chile forced 22 Brisas turnovers and outrebounded them 46-34 including 35 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Catalina Lopez (184-84) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and the former international guard Francisca Salvatierra (173-94) who added 18 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was international forward Francisca Rojas (176-93, college: Boston Coll.) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Monserrat Videla (175-92) scored 12 points. Brisas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Univ.de Chile maintains second position with 9-3 record having just two point less than leader Sportiva Ita. Brisas at the other side keep the fifth place with seven games lost. Univ.de Chile are looking forward to face New Crusaders (#3) in Valparaíso in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Brisas' supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Boston College.
