Regular Season Round 3: Saitama Bron. - Otsuka A. 43-86

The game in Saitama supposed to be also worth to mention about. Otsuka A. (4-0) played at the court of Saitama Broncos (0-6). Otsuka A. smashed Saitama Broncos 86-43. It looked good early as Saitama Broncos took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Otsuka A. had a 21-14 second period charge getting the lead and Saitama Broncos were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 43-86. Otsuka A. dominated on the defensive end, holding Saitama Broncos to just 2 points in fourth quarter and to 12 points in second half. Otsuka A. held Saitama Broncos to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Saitama Broncos 57-32 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American center Joe Wolfinger (216-85, college: Citadel) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Brent Jennings (193-88, college: So.Poly State, agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Takuya Nakashima (180-92) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Otsuka A.'s next round opponent will be Kanazawa Sam. (#5) in Ishikawa. Saitama Broncos will play at home against Tokyo Cinq R. and hope to get finally their first victory.
