Regular Season Round 10: Al-Qazeres - Araski 64-67

A very close game took place in Caceres between Araski and Al-Qazeres. Fourth ranked Araski (7-3) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Al-Qazeres (5-5). Araski managed to escape with a 3-point win 67-64 in the fight for the fourth place. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 34-28 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Araski forced 19 Al-Qazeres turnovers. Jamaican power forward Vanessa Gidden (192-85, college: Hofstra, agency: Josep and Nicolas) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Marta Tudanca (182-90) chipped in 15 points and 4 steals during the contest. Four Araski players scored in double figures. Araski's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American guard Ameryst Alston (175-93, college: Ohio St.) responded with 20 points and Croatian-Italian center Dubravka Dacic (201-85) scored 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Newly promoted Araski maintains fourth position with 7-3 record. Al-Qazeres at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Cadi La Seu and Bembibre. Araski will meet league's leader Perfumerias Avenida in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Al-Qazeres will play against Gran Canaria (#14) in Las Palmas and hope to secure a win.
