Regular Season Round 6: Fubon Braves - Yulon Luxgen 62-71

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Fubon Braves (7-1) against second ranked Yulon Luxgen on Sunday night. Yulon Luxgen were defeated by second ranked Yulon Luxgen (6-2) 71-62. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Fubon Braves. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Yulon Luxgen forced 19 Fubon Braves turnovers. Strangely Fubon Braves outrebounded Yulon Luxgen 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Yulon Luxgen made 8 blocks. Ivorian-French power forward Herve Lamizana (208-81, college: Rutgers, agency: Basket Management Solutions) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Gui-Xiang Chen (180-91) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Yulon Luxgen players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Canadian center Liam McMorrow (218-87, college: Tenn Tech) with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds and the former international point guard Chih-Shan Hung (176-85) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Yulon Luxgen maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Fubon Braves. Fubon Braves at the other side still keep top place with one game lost. Yulon Luxgen are looking forward to face Pauian (#4) in the next round. Fubon Braves will play against Dacin Tigers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
