There was an upset when higher ranked Matera (4-4) was edged on the road by fifteenth ranked Rimini (2-6) 89-86 on Sunday. It was a good game for point guard Luca Pesaresi (180-89) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 assists. Point guard Davide Meluzzi (180-98) contributed with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Rimini's coach Andrea Maghelli used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Point guard Alessandro Grande (185-94, agency: Two Points) answered with 27 points and 8 rebounds and guard Gianni Cantagalli (195-88) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Matera. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Rimini maintains fifteenth place in B with 2-6 record. Loser Matera dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. Rimini will face higher ranked Monteroni (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
