Regular Season Round 8: Villeneuve - Bourges 62-68

Leader Bourges delivered the seventh victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (4-4) 68-62. Villeneuve D'Ascq was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Bourges made 20-of-21 charity shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Bourges outrebounded Villeneuve D'Ascq 45-22 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian guard Miljana Bojovic (181-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-91, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. International forward Valerianne Ayayi (184-94) replied with 13 points and Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) added 8 points and 4 assists in the effort for Villeneuve D'Ascq. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bourges have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-1 record. Villeneuve D'Ascq at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Mondeville and Nantes. Bourges will play against Nantes Reze (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Villeneuve D'Ascq will play against the league's second-placed Basket Landes and hopes to get back on the winning track.
