Gran Canaria (#14) forced the game against Universitario de Ferrol (#10) into an overtime, but lost by one point 91-92. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-9. But Gran Canaria won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Gran Canaria used huge pressure winning it 32-26 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-11. Power forward Beatriz Sanchez (190-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) notched 18 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and point guard Ana Suarez (170-87) supported her with 18 points and 8 assists. Even 17 points by Czech forward Michaela Stejskalova (186-87) did not help to save the game for Gran Canaria. American forward Breanna Brock (187-90, college: Missouri, agency: Gamble Sports Management) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Five Universitario de Ferrol and four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. Universitario de Ferrol (4-6) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Gipuzkoa UPV and Mann Filter. Gran Canaria at the other side stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Universitario de Ferrol's next round opponent will be Zamarat (#13) in Zamora where they are favorite. Gran Canaria will play at home against Al-Qazeres and hope to win that game.
