Regular Season Round 8: Jolly JBS - Cedevita 84-78

Everything could happen in Sibenik at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Jolly and one of their biggest challengers Cedevita had identical 6-1 record. This time Jolly used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Zagreb 84-78 on Monday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-9. But Cedevita won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Jolly had a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Ivan Novacic (201-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Mike Scott (183-93, college: Idaho, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American swingman Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) produced 27 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Filip Bundovic (205-94, agency: Octagon Europe) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Jolly and four Cedevita players scored in double figures. Jolly have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with KK Split and GKK Sibenik. Defending champion Cedevita dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Jolly will face Alkar Sinj (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cedevita will play against KK Zabok (#10) and hope to win that game.
