Very expected game when Elitzur Holon (1-2) was smashed on the road by Maccabi Ashdod (2-0) 79-54. Maccabi Ashdod forced 20 Elitzur Holon turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. Maccabi Ashdod brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for Swedish Abdi Farhiya (188-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Tiffany Jackson (191-85, college: Texas) helped adding 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Nigerian-American power forward Atonye Nyingifa (180-90, college: UCLA) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and American forward Markel Walker (185-90, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Maccabi Raanana (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Elitzur Holon will have a break next round.
