Date: November 28, 2016
The game with biggest result difference took place in Athens. Local Panathinaikos (7-1) outscored 10th ranked Apollon Patras (2-6) 96-59. The game without a history. Panathinaikos led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Panathinaikos outrebounded Apollon Patras 35-22 including 27 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The winners were led by Dominican-American guard James Feldeine (193-88, college: Quinnipiac) who scored that evening 17 points and 5 rebounds and international point guard Nick Calathes (198-89, college: Florida) supported him with 9 points and 7 assists. Even 7 points by American forward Michael Cobbins (203-92, college: Oklahoma St.) did not help to save the game for Apollon Patras. Center Georgios Diamantakos (215-95) added 9 points for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Panathinaikos have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with AEK Athens. Apollon Patras at the other side keeps the tenth position with six games lost. Panathinaikos' next round opponent will be Lavrio (#13) on the road which should be another easy win for them. Apollon Patras will play against Doxa Lefkadas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
