Important game to mention about took place in S'Arenal. Third ranked Palencia Baloncesto (9-3) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Palma (6-6) 79-77 on Tuesday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Palencia Baloncesto dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Palma's 26. It was a good game for power forward Urko Otegui (203-81) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Daniel Rodriguez (182-84) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Portuguese center Claudio Fonseca (206-89) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Roger Fornas (202-82) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Palma. Four Palencia Baloncesto and five Palma players scored in double figures. Palma's coach Xavi Sastre rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palencia Baloncesto have a solid four-game winning streak. Palencia Baloncesto keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Gipuzkoa GBC. Palma at the other side keeps the ninth place with six games lost. They share the position with Burgos. Palencia Baloncesto will play against Araberri (#8) in Vitoria-Gasteiz in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Palma will play on the road against Lleida Basquet and hopes to get back on the winning track.
