Regular Season Round 8: Ramat Hasharon - Maccabi H/H 82-85

A very close game took place in Ramat Hasharon between Hasharon and Hasharon. Thirteenth ranked Hasharon (3-5) got a very close victory on the road over 10th ranked Hasharon (3-5). Hasharon managed to escape with a 3-point win 85-82 in the fight for the tenth place. Hasharon forced 24 Hasharon turnovers and had a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by American guard Vernon Teel (193-87, college: Loyola Mary) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 29 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import Storm Warren (201-88, college: LSU, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Four Hasharon players scored in double figures. Hasharon's coach Hanan Hershkovich used entire bench in such tough game. Even 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists by naturalized Swiss point guard Jonathan Shtarkman (188-91) did not help to save the game for Hasharon. Rom Cornelius (197-93) added 20 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Hasharon moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Hasharon. Hasharon lost third consecutive game. Hasharon will meet at home higher ranked Ironi Kiryat Ata (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hasharon will play against Hap.Haifa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
