Regular Season Round 12: Melilla - Oviedo 71-51

We should mention about the upset which took place in Melilla, where higher ranked Oviedo CB (8-4) was outleveled in a road game by twelfth ranked Melilla Baloncesto (5-7) 71-51 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Oviedo CB. The game was mostly controlled by Melilla Baloncesto. Oviedo CB managed to win second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of center Oliver Arteaga (208-83) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Hector Manzano (207-80) who added 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. Melilla Baloncesto's coach Alejandro Alcoba used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Daniel Perez (200-69) with 9 points and 6 rebounds and center Miquel Salvo Llambrich (205-94) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Melilla Baloncesto maintains twelfth position with 5-7 record. Loser Oviedo CB keeps the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Ourense and Forca Lleida. Melilla Baloncesto will meet CB Prat (#13) on the road in the next round. Oviedo CB will play against Leyma Basquet (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
