Regular Season Round 7: Campo Mourao - Vitoria 70-64

First defeat of league's leader Universo/Vitoria (5-1) against fifth ranked Campo Mourao (4-2) 70-64 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Universo/Vitoria. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Betinho Nardi Duarte (195-88) who helped to win the game recording 22 points. Power forward Leandro Da Silva (203-81) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Campo Mourao's coach Emerson Souza used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Christopher Hayes (203-87, college: Detroit Mercy) answered with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and center Douglas Kurtz (213-87, college: Hawaii) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Universo/Vitoria. Campo Mourao moved-up to fourth place. Universo/Vitoria at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Brasilia. Universo/Vitoria will play next round against Mogi trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Campo Mourao will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked SKY/Basquete in Aldeota.
