Regular Season Round 7: Brasilia - Pinheiros 96-80

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Brasilia as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Brasilia defeated 4th placed Pinheiros at home 96-80. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pinheiros. Brasilia made 21-of-23 charity shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 59.1 percentage. Brasilia players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for international power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. International Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) helped adding 19 points. Five Brasilia players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Renan Lenz (206-90, college: Utah) responded with 13 points and Germerson Barbosa (202-93) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Brasilia have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Pinheiros at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Pinheiros will play next round against Minas trying to get back on the winning streak. Brasilia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
