Date: November 30, 2016
CBA top team - Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (11-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighteenth ranked Jiangsu TX (1-11) in Hangzhou 134-111. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions made 28-of-33 charity shots (84.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 28 Jiangsu TX turnovers. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Jiangsu TX was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American point guard Courtney Fortson (180-88, college: Arkansas, agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored that evening 41 points (!!!) and 9 assists and the other American import power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 51 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds by Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) did not help to save the game for Jiangsu TX. Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) added 19 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record, which they share with Shanghai S. Jiangsu TX lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Guangzhou. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#12) in Nanjing in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Jiangsu TX will play on the road against Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#15) in Hangzhou to get more than just one victory in their record.
