Regular Season Round 9: Njardvik - Thor AK 94-105

The biggest surprise of round 9 in Dominos League was guest Thor AK's (5-4) road victory over 5th ranked Njardvik (4-5) 105-94 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Njardvik. The game without a history. Thor AK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 62.3 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Thor AK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO) who scored 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Danero Thomas (196-86, college: Murray St.) chipped in 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jeremy Atkinson (193-90, college: NC-Asheville) who recorded 31 points and 7 rebounds and guard Bjorn Kristjansson (188-92) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Thor AK have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fifth place. Njardvik at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Thor AK are looking forward to face Keflavik (#11) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Njardvik will play against IR (#10) in Reykjavik and is hoping to win this game.
