Regular Season Round 9: Kalev/Cramo - Tartu Ulikool 86-63

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated TU/Rock (7-1) in Tallinn on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Kalev/Cramo (5-2) 86-63. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of TU/Rock. The game was mostly controlled by Kalev/Cramo. TU/Rock managed to win second period 22-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kalev/Cramo dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to TU/Rock's 32. It was a good game for American guard Demonte Harper (193-89, college: Morehead St.) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 5 rebounds. American-Bulgarian power forward Cedric Simmons (206-86, college: N.Carolina St.) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Kalev/Cramo players scored in double figures. International Janari Joesaar (198-93, college: UTRGV) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Janar Talts (206-83) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for TU/Rock. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kalev/Cramo have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 5-2 record. TU/Rock at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Kalev/Cramo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tallinn to the arena TLU/Kalev.
