Rather expected game when 9th ranked Shahrdari Gorgan (1-5) was smashed at home by seventh ranked Chemidor (3-3) 87-59 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 59-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Chemidor made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Shahrdari Gorgan was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for the former international forward Amir Sedighi (203-93) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Iman Zandi (188-81) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Four Chemidor players scored in double figures. Chemidor's coach Javad Rahmatipour felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Croatian power forward Filip Toncinic (212-84, college: Texas A&M-CC) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and center Mahdi Moradinasab (202-92) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Shahrdari Gorgan. Chemidor have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tabriz. Shahrdari Gorgan lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with five games lost. Chemidor will face bottom-ranked Shiraz a.s Pipe (#10) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Shahrdari Gorgan will play against the league's second-placed Petrochimi and hope to win that game.
