Regular Season Round 8: Stelmet ZG - Asseco 82-80

The most exciting game of round 8 in the TBL took place in Zielona Gora. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Asseco (5-4) to fourth ranked Stelmet (7-3) 82-80 on Thursday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Asseco. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Lukasz Koszarek (187-84) who scored 16 points and 6 assists. Montenegrin Nemanja Djurisic (203-92, college: Georgia) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Krzysztof Szubarga (178-84) produced 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and swingman Przemyslaw Zolnierewicz (196-95) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Four Stelmet and five Asseco players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Asseco at the other side keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Krosno and Rosa Radom. Stelmet are again looking forward to face Asseco (#8) in Gdynia in the next round where they are favorite. Asseco will have a break next round.
