We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Sao Paulo where eighth ranked Vasco Da G. (4-4) defeated 7th ranked Vivo/Franca (3-4) 71-67. American guard David Jackson (195-82, college: Penn St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Gaucho Zilmer (197-86) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Vasco Da G. players scored in double figures. Point guard Alexey Borges (188-95) replied with 15 points and 5 steals and the former international Andre Stefanelli (196-84) added 9 points in the effort for Vivo/Franca. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Vasco Da G. moved-up to seventh place. Vivo/Franca at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Vasco Da G.'s next round opponent will be Macae (#14) at home and are hoping to win another game.
