Second Stage Round 18: Shandong - Bayi 64-87

WCBA top team - Bayi Kylin (6-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixth ranked Shandong (0-6) in Jinan 87-64. Bayi Kylin dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Shandong's 42. Bayi Kylin forced 20 Shandong turnovers and outrebounded them 41-26 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international center Liting Zhang (199-94) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. International center Mengran Sun (197-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Bayi Kylin players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international power forward Hengyu Yang (194-95) who recorded 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and swingman Shuo Wang (184-93) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively. Shandong's coach Li Guangqi gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Bayi Kylin have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 6-0 record. Shandong at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Bayi Kylin's next round opponent will be Liaoning Hengye (#5) in Anshan. Shandong will play at home against Heilongjiang Chenneng and hopes to get finally their first victory.
