Very important is a road loss of second ranked GECR Indalo (11-8) against ninth ranked Boca Juniors (5-14) on Friday night. Visiting GECR Indalo was crushed by Boca Juniors in Buenos Aires 102-82. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of GECR Indalo. The game was mostly controlled by Boca Juniors. GECR Indalo was better in third quarter 30-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded GECR Indalo 42-25 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international point guard Nicolas Gianella (186-78) nailed a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 assists for the winning side and Greek Fotios Lampropoulos (206-83) accounted for 19 points and 8 rebounds. Boca Juniors' coach Ronaldo Cordoba allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Nigerian-American power forward Lotanna Nwogbo (203-93, college: Longwood) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Matthew Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for GECR Indalo in the defeat. Five Boca Juniors and four GECR Indalo players scored in double figures. Boca Juniors maintains ninth place in Sur with 5-14 record. GECR Indalo at the other side dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Boca Juniors will play against higher ranked Instituto (#5) in Cordoba in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GECR Indalo will play on the road against Hispano Am. in Rio Gallegos and hopes to get back on the winning track.
