Everything went according to plan when third ranked Olimpo (7-5) outplayed 5th ranked Huracan (5-8) in Bahia Blanca 82-62 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 49-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Olimpo had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for guard Christian Schoppler (185-86) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Canadian forward Dwayne Smith (198-89, college: G.Washington, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Olimpo's coach Franco Maceratesi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb) answered with 10 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import center Shane Heyward (198-92, college: Columbus St.) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Huracan. Olimpo moved-up to second place, which they share with Parque Sur and Platense. Huracan lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Olimpo will face again Huracan (#5) in Trelew in the next round.
