Regular Season Round 4: Aisin AW - Toyoda Gosei 73-62

Bottom-ranked Toyoda Gosei (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to sixth ranked Aisin AW (4-4) 73-62. It looked good early as Toyoda Gosei took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Aisin AW had a 26-13 second period charge getting the lead and Toyoda Gosei was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 62-73. It was a very good performance for guard Kyouhei Kumazawa (180-88) who helped to win the game recording 9 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Kei Kato (172-93) contributed with 18 points and 4 steals for the winners. American center Matthew Kendrick (215-90, college: St.Leo) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds and point guard Ryoma Yanagiuchi (182-92) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Toyoda Gosei. Toyoda Gosei's coach tested fourteen players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Aisin AW maintains sixth position with 4-4 record. Toyoda Gosei at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Aisin AW's next round opponent will be higher ranked Kanazawa Sam. (#3) in Ishikawa and it may be quite challenging game. Toyoda Gosei will play at home against Saitama Broncos (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
