Regular Season Round 20: Tochigi Brex - SeaHorses 71-74

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Tochigi Brex (14-4) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by Aishin Sea Horses (16-4) 74-71. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 25-14 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Aishin Sea Horses made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American center Isaac Butts (208-89, college: Appalachian St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 17 rebounds. The former international swingman Kosuke Kanamaru (193-89) contributed with 24 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners. American power forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) added 12 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Tochigi Brex. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-4 record. Tochigi Brex at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tochigi Brex will play again at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
