Regular Season Round 9: Faros - Ethnikos 90-68

The game in Keratsiniou supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th placed Ethnikos (5-4) played at the court of fifth ranked Faros (6-3). Faros smashed Ethnikos 90-68 on Saturday. Faros made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. Point guard Nikos Liakopoulos (188-83) stepped up and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Faros players scored in double figures. Faros' coach Giannis Tzimas felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was center Kostas Macheras (205-85) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Paraskeva Martzos (197-85) scored 19 points. Faros moved-up to fourth place. Loser Ethnikos dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with AE Larissas. Faros will meet league's leader Panionios in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ethnikos will play against Amyntas Dafnis (#11) and hope to secure a win.
