There was a surprise result in Alicante where eighth ranked Novaschool (3-5) beat 3rd placed Meridiano Baza (5-4) 72-65 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Novaschool forced 19 Meridiano Baza turnovers. It was a great evening for naturalized American guard Marco Porcher Jimenez (193-92, college: FIU) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. Point guard Fernando Ferruz (180) helped adding 17 points. Center Jorge Rodriguez (198-94) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds and point guard David Garcia (180-93) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Four Meridiano Baza players scored in double figures. Meridiano Baza's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Novaschool moved-up to seventh place in Group D-A. Newly promoted Meridiano Baza dropped to the second position with four games lost.
