Regular Season Round 11: Alcobendas - Quintanar 64-79

There was a small surprise when ninth ranked Quintanar (6-4) defeated on the road 7th ranked Alcobendas (6-5) 79-64 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 79-64. Quintanar dominated on the defensive end, holding Alcobendas to just 4 points in second quarter. Quintanar had a 31-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American center Emmanuel Okoroba (203-92, college: Hampton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import Michael Murray (196-91, college: Coppin St.) helped adding 19 points and 4 assists. Four Quintanar players scored in double figures. Guard Guillermo Ruiz (185-95, college: Newberry) responded with 16 points and point guard Hector Jimenez (183-94) scored 16 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Quintanar moved-up to eighth place in Group B. Loser Alcobendas dropped to the ninth position with five games lost.
