Regular Season Round 11: Gimle BBK - Persbraten 96-78

Very expected game when 10th ranked Persbraten (1-11) lost to fifth ranked Gimle BBK (7-6) in Bergen 78-96. The game was mostly controlled by Gimle BBK. Persbraten was better in second period 26-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gimle BBK dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Persbraten's 30. Gimle BBK forced 23 Persbraten turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. The best player for the winners was swingman Magne Fivelstad (198-89, college: Barry) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Lars Espe (179-98) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. Forward Christian Bakken (198-88) produced 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Eivind Jorgensen (195-94) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Four Gimle BBK and five Persbraten players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Gimle BBK maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Persbraten lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Gimle BBK's next round opponent will be Ammerud Bskt (#8) in Oslo. Persbraten will play on the road against the league's leader Kongsberg and hope to win that game.
