Regular Season Round 11: Arenys - Santfeliuenc 86-83

A very interesting game took place in Arenys del Mar. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Santfeliuenc (5-5) to third ranked Arenys (6-4) 86-83 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Santfeliuenc. Arenys forced 20 Santfeliuenc turnovers and outrebounded them 44-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Point guard Pau Ruzafa (180) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 16 rebounds and 8 assists. Bahamas power forward Christopher Turnquest (203-83, college: Miles CC) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Arenys players scored in double figures. Arenys' coach Cesar Saura allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Canadian forward Bruce Komakech (204-91, college: Davis & Elkins) answered with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Xavier Guirao (190-87) added 22 points and 6 assists in the effort for Santfeliuenc. Arenys maintains third place in Group C-A with 6-4 record having just one point less than leader Chantada, which they share with Martorell and Castellbisbal. Santfeliuenc at the other side dropped to the seventh position with five games lost.
