Regular Season Round 9: Holargos - GS Larissas 72-70

A very interesting game took place in Holargos. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 15th ranked GS Larissas (1-8) to tenth ranked Holargos (4-5) 72-70 on Saturday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Naturalized Serbian guard Igor Milosevic (193-86, agency: BeoBasket) nailed 22 points and 6 assists for the winning side and center Apostolos Koutroulias (206-76) accounted for 7 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Evangelos Bebis (197-95, college: Iona) came up with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Sotiris Gioulekas (203-79) added 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for GS Larissas in the defeat. Holargos moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. GS Larissas lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifteenth position with eight games lost. Holargos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Doukas (#3) in Athens and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. GS Larissas will play at home against Arkadikos (#10) and hope to win that game.
