Rather predictable result in Hitachinaka where seventh ranked Toyota B SR (8-9) smashed 9th ranked Hitachi Cougars (4-13) 72-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Toyota B SR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hitachi Cougars to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Hitachi Cougars 40-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. Power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Guard Yui Kawahara (169-91) chipped in 20 points. Power forward Chika Suzuki (183-93) produced 10 points and guard Yuki Kitamura (170-94) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Toyota B SR. They maintain seventh place with 8-9 record. Loser Hitachi Cougars keep the ninth position with 13 games lost. Toyota B SR will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hitachi Cougars will play again against Toyota B SR (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
