Regular Season Round 11: Azuqueca - Rivas 86-82

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Azuqueca (7-4) beat at home 16th ranked Rivas (1-10) 86-82 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Rivas was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Azuqueca had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Rivas was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for point guard Carlos Calvo (178-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 assists. Jorge Tejera (200-92) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. Power forward Javier Mulas (198-85) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Miguel Zamora (189-93) scored 17 points. Four Azuqueca and five Rivas players scored in double figures. Azuqueca moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with 3 other teams. Rivas lost their ninth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the fifteenth position with ten games lost.
