Regular Season Round 8: Olimpi - Dinamo Tbilisi 75-83

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tbilisi: Dinamo Tbilisi (#1) and Olimpi (#7). Olimpi was defeated at home 75-83 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Olimpi won fourth quarter 23-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dinamo Tbilisi looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was center Ilia Londaridze (205-89) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international Mikheil Berishvili (204-87) chipped in 18 points and 8 assists. Dinamo Tbilisi's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Gegi Baqradze (203-94) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Revaz Rogava (191-93) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Four Olimpi players scored in double figures. Dinamo Tbilisi (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Olimpi lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with seven games lost. Dinamo Tbilisi are looking forward to face Batumi (#4) at home in the next round. Olimpi will play against Energy Invest and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
