Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Hokkaido L. (5-16) lost to first ranked Toshiba Thunders (18-3) in Kanagawa 78-91 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Toshiba Thunders. Hokkaido L. was better in second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toshiba Thunders made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds. The other American import forward Ryan Spangler (203-91, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Toshiba Thunders' coach Takuya Kita used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Daniel Miller (211-91, college: Georgia Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) added 8 points and 6 assists in the effort for Hokkaido L.Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Toshiba Thunders have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-3 record. Hokkaido L. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost.
