Regular Season Round 20: Toyotsu FE - Shinshu BW 87-82

Everything went according to plan in Nagoya where first ranked Toyotsu FE (16-3) won against 5th ranked Shinshu BW (6-13) 87-82 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-18. But Shinshu BW won second period 17-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Toyotsu FE won last quarter 30-26. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Forward Yuto Otsuka (188-90) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. American power forward Jamal Boykin (203-87, college: California) produced 18 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Yasuhiko Yasuhiko (181-90) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Five Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach Ryutaro Onodera rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Toyotsu FE have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 16-3 record. Shinshu BW lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. Toyotsu FE will face again Shinshu BW (#5) in Nagano in the next round.
