Regular Season Round 9: Aris - Kolossos HH 84-60

Date: December 3, 2016
Everything could happen in Thessaloniki at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Aris and 7th ranked Kolossos had identical 4-4 record. This time Aris used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Rodou 84-60 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Aris. Kolossos managed to win fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Serbian power forward Tadija Dragicevic (206-86) nailed 21 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) for the winning side and American Devyn Marble (198-92, college: Iowa) accounted for 7 points and 6 rebounds. American point guard Trevor Releford (183-91, college: Alabama) came up with 16 points and the former international forward Panagiotis Vasilopoulos (202-84) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Kolossos in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aris (5-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with AGOR and PAOK. Loser Kolossos keeps the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Kymis and Promitheas. Aris will meet at home Kymis (#8) in the next round. Kolossos will play against Apollon Patras and hope to secure a win.
