Regular Season Round 4: Kanazawa Sam. - Otsuka A. 86-69

Rather predictable result in Ishikawa where third ranked Kanazawa Sam. (11-5) defeated 5th ranked Otsuka A. (8-8) 86-69 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kanazawa Sam.. Otsuka A. was better in fourth quarter 23-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kanazawa Sam. dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Otsuka A.'s 42. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 6 rebounds and guard Ide Yuji (181-88) who added 12 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Kyle Richardson (201-91, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Kodama Takashi (166-92) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kanazawa Sam. maintains third position with 11-5 record having eight points less than leader Fukuoka Rizing. Loser Otsuka A. dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Kanazawa Sam. will face Aisin AW (#6) in Aichi in the next round. Otsuka A.'s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tokyo to the arena Tokyo Big Blue.
