Regular Season Round 9: Roannais - Roche 58-81

Very predictable result when second ranked Roche (8-1) rolled over on the road bottom-ranked Roannais (2-7) 81-58. It looked good early as Roannais took a 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Roche had a 26-15 second period charge getting the lead and Roannais was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-81. They outrebounded Roannais 34-21 including 23 on the defensive glass. Roche players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. The best player for the winners was DR Congolese center Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-82) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese forward Mariame Dia (185-78) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Laetitia Guapo (180-95) who recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds and forward Jessica Clemencon (190-89) added 13 points respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Roche. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Avenir. Roannais lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom place with seven games lost. Roche's next round opponent will be CFBB (#12) in Paris which should be another easy win for them. Roannais will play on the road against Montbrison and hope to win that game.
