Regular Season Round 10: Arantia - Sparta 74-106

Date: December 3, 2016
9th ranked Arantia (1-9) was outscored at home by seventh ranked Sparta (5-5) with the biggest margin this round 106-74 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Sparta. Arantia was better in fourth quarter 26-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. Sparta forced 29 Arantia turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Titus Robinson (201-90, college: Buffalo) scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) to lead the charge for the winners and forward Brad Reese (200-88, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Reese is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Sparta players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Corday Sims (196-91, college: Peru St.) responded with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Lee Fisher (198-89, college: Chicago St.) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sparta moved-up to sixth place, which they share with T71. Arantia lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. Sparta will face higher ranked Basket Esch (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Arantia will play against the league's second-placed Amicale (#2) in Steinsel and hope to win that game.
