Date: December 3, 2016
Very expected game when 16th ranked Zamorano (3-8) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Alcazar (6-5) 92-74. The game without a history. Alcazar led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Lamonte Thomas (187-90, college: J.and Wales, RI) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 assists. Forward Ignacio Diaz (200-87) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Nigerian forward Jeffrey Solarin (193-92, college: Idaho St.) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and French point guard Sango Niang (183-93, college: Simon Fraser) added 15 points and 4 assists respectively for Zamorano in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alcazar moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Valladolid and Zornotza. Zamorano at the other side, also newcomer in the league, stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Alcazar's next round opponent will be Moron (#9) in MorĂ³n de la Frontera. Zamorano will play at home against Gandia (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
